Hale's Annual Science Fair
The gifted STEAM Magnet’s Science Fair represents our Capstone Project for all 7th and 8th grade students. This began early in the Fall with the goal of students demonstrating mastery of the scientific method, which they began investigating in 6th grade. Students selected a project that identified a real-world issue in the broad area of Science. This project affords students the opportunity to use critical thinking skills, investigate a specialized area of interest and apply their knowledge in Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology. Capstone projects provide students with the opportunity to exhibit their capacity for learning and provides a model for future competitive endeavors. Additionally, students incorporate 21st Century Skills in a real-world context through brainstorming ideas with their instructors and their peers, thinking independently, forming questions to real-world problems, applying creativity, innovation, and invention. Upon completion, students will gather, organize, and interpret their findings and communicate these results with precision and clarity.
